Seems like we have a new brand asking for our attention and Geotel will be apparently competing in the rugged segment of the market. Their first released device Geotel A1 is just going for that and is armed with some advanced weapons.
We are talking mainly about the software side of things, because while chinese manufacturers can be a bit slower with catching up this one is certainly trying not to. In terms of hardware things are a bit less rosy with pretty bare bone basic budget specs like 4,5-inch QHD resolution display, MT6580M processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 8 Mpix Sony rear camera, 2 Mpix front camera and 3400 mAh battery. Yes the rugged build looks solid and it offers IP67 certification, but the retail pricing is set around $99.99 so a tad higher than the specs would suggest.
