The Mate 9 Pro and its 5.5-inch display

Huawei has just rolled out a brand new update for the Huawei Mate 9, bringing with it the December security patch and a brand new 10x digital zoom feature. The 278MB update will arrive as build version MHA-AL00C00B153, and should be downloaded immediately.

Aside from the prementioned digital zoom feature and security patch, the update also brings a slew of performance updates and fixes to make your Mate 9 more usable. We’re not sure how the 10x digital zoom will work, but it sounds interesting to say the least.

If you’re a Huawei Mate 9 user, you should be receiving a notification for the update fairly soon. If you haven’t however, make sure to head to the updates tab in the setting menu to check if you can download it.

Hopefully this also fixes some of the low light camera issues. On reviews I have seen of this phone, it performs really poorly under low light. Unacceptable from a phone at this price point..
