We all knew it was coming and now that it is finally official we know exactly what to look forward to in up and coming flagship phones!
Qualcomm have today revealed their latest flagship SoC! The Snapdragon 835 has been rumoured for weeks already, and now that it is official we have some actual real figures and facts to drool over.
First of all the Snapdragon 835 is a smaller chipset than the current Snapdragon 821, this is thanks to the new Samsung 10nm manufacturing processor which still ensures the SD835 has an amazing 3 Billion transistors.
Speaking of the Snapdragon 821, the new 835 is blamed to be up to 25% more powerful at peak performance. The Performance Cluster is made up of 4 2.45Ghz cores and 2MB Cache, so expect some blistering speeds from the new chip.

While that is impressive most of the grunt work, i.e day to day app usage will be handled by the 4 core Efficiency Cluster made up of 4 x 1.8Ghz cores and 1MB cache.
GPU performance is claimed to be up by 25% on the Snapdragon 821 too thanks to a new Adreno 540GPU. Gamers will be happy to know that the next gen of flagship phones will be able to handle next gen graphics, but they might also be interested in Sync too, a feature that controls refresh rate of the display giving a smoother more fluid feel.
Other updates to the chip come in the form of a faster Spectra 180 Image Signal Processor, that should mean faster image processing and also faster handling of multiple cameras, a new X16 LTE modem, Dolby Atmos and support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0.
All we have to wait for now are the first phones to launch with the new Snapdragon 835 so we can see just more powerful they really are.
