China’s Huawei announced at the ongoing CES 2017 that the Mate 9 would be made available in the US market. The phone will come with Leica branded dual lens cameras.
As for the pricing, the Mate 9 will go for $600 apiece. While it’s something you don’t expect to pay for an Android flagship these days, it’s the camera tech that Huawei are betting big on… and thus the asking price.
Gizchina News of the week
The Mate 9 packs a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC, and along with that 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM. It isn’t the highest-spec’d smartphone out there, but again, the Mate 9 isn’t about numbers according to Huawei.
In the US, buyers will be able to purchase the Mate 9 via any of the following retailers — Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. The phone will feature Alexa (Amazon-powered voice assistant) thanks to a new software update.
I have the mate 7, after 2 years still performs well, Huawei does really good phones I would have bought this one instead of the nubia Z11 but they are now asking for 600 bucks!
Just $600?? I’ll buy two.
OMG! Where have you been the past two months? The Mate 9 has a Kirin 960 and 64 GB of Storage along with 4 GB of RAM. Also on the US Huawei site.
