Vivo aren’t the most celebrated Chinese company, but they’ve been doing quite well despite that. The company continues to do well, but we’re not sure if they’re built for success in the Indian market. That doesn’t seem to have deterred them though, seeing as pre-orders for the Vivo V5 Plus just went up in India.
Gizchina News of the week
The Vivo V5 Plus is, just like pretty much every other Vivo device, quite expensive. According to Mahesh Telecom, the device costs INR 2,7980, which is roughly $410. Definitely on the more expensive side of the spectrum, mainly due to the poor choice of chipset in the Snapdragon 625 (full specs here).
To soften the blow, Vivo will also include a VR Box with every purchase, though it doesn’t help much. The device is set to be officially launched on Monday, and is already available for pre-order from many different offline retailers. While I personally see no reason to get it, perhaps you might see something in it.
For it’s spec sheet, over priced in India like all Vivo, but the company has huge offline presence in India with great incentive set to brick n mortar dealers, who push this hard. Hence will sell. I truly believe hardly a VFM product.

Vivo, always overpriced like they have an Apple branding.
