Samsung plans to update its Tab family of tablets with a Nougat based Galaxy Tab S2 model that seems to be in the works. We had seen some reports last November regarding this device, and a couple of days ago, a Nougat-powered Galaxy Tab S2 received its WiFi certification from WFA.
Gizchina News of the week
There are few things to see from the certification as it only reveals that the tablet is powered by Android Nougat version 7.0. However, given the fact that the device has started collecting necessary certifications, we expect the roll out to begin sooner than later.
So instead of upgrading the software, they release a new hardware so that to upgrade the software. Genius Samsung, let’s hope that consumers won’t find out … last time I saw that was back in dumb phone era where you had to throw away the hardware too to get new software…

I Don’t think so: It is probably the same hardware (european S2 has for example T-819 as model number, while Tab S1 has T-7xx)
It seems for me that the pre-installed nougat version gets its own model number
