Huawei, the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world, is said to be developing a second-generation smart watch – the Huawei Watch 2. The first version of Huawei Watch was launched almost 2 years ago.
The first-gen Android Wear device was easily one of the best looking devices out there and we have no reason to expect any less from the Huawei Watch 2. The original wearable was reported as being sharp to look at but bulky on the wrist. Huawei Watch 2 is said to adopt a “sportier” look even though it features the same 1.4-inch display. The straps should be interchangeable leather or stainless steel.
Gizchina News of the week
The Huawei Watch 2 will add at least one major feature: cellular connectivity. Certain versions of the watch will come with a built-in SIM card. This would enable data connections as well as calls when the watch is out of range of Wi-Fi or a paired smartphone. While this isn’t new technology, it is certainly a welcome change in Huawei Watch’s design.
Rumours have it that the Watch 2 will be debuted at the same event as the original Huawei Watch – MWC on February 9. We will keep you posted about the much anticipated release.
If is still has that sad small round screen then it’s useless. I do understand and agree that it looks nice but I just got a Chinese watch with a 2.2 inch rectangular screen and it’s so much better.
It actually runs real Android and you can have some apps on it, even the keyboard works if you’re patient.
The battery capacity is also much larger so this is certainly a useful smartwatch at $80 compared to the much more expensive ones from Huawei and the others that are more or less useless IMO ( but they do look very nice indeed ).
OK sorry but is it IP67 or 68? I never actually tried any smartwatch because of that issue.. Never seen a smartwatch that has such feature “except Galaxy’s, but I dislike Galaxy for no reason” 🙁
No, I never said it was. It probably can’t even handle a shower but for me this isn’t a problem.
I also have a Gear S, it’s nice and the curved screen is really cool but the Tizen software is kinda crappy and the battery doesn’t last too long if you use features like GPS, wifi or 3G.
Thanks dude you are super helpful! :3
You’re welcome. Btw there’s a thing where people were working on Android for the Gear S, that could probably make it more useful if it works decently.
Actually my favorite watch would be a slightly bigger Gear S with larger battery.
I just think round screen watches are rubbish as far as what you can do with them goes.

Can you link AliExpress link of that watch? :3
