ZTE Axon 7 is the newest phone to join the Nougat bandwagon

The much-anticipated OTA update for the ZTE Axon 7 is now live, and is bringing Android 7 Nougat to the smartphone.

The update comes a bit after the actual ETA, signifying a small (but troublesome, for owners) delay. The OTA was expected last month, so ZTE missed the mark by a week at least.

Nonetheless, it seems as though the update has been worth the wait. The update makes the Axon 7 one of the few phones to support Daydream View for VR.

Split-screen apps, built-in caller ID, spam detection, call blocking, etc. are some features brought forth by this OTA. It’s been put together in partnership with Hiya.

The phone — selling for under $400 on Amazon — is powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC and happens to be a popular device even months after launch.
