I guess you know about the over 1 million registrations that the Nokia 6 had a couple of weeks ago, and the large demand about the first Nokia Android smartphone of all time.
It seems that things are still hot for the device and JD.com (that has put the Nokia 6 on sale several times over the past few weeks) can’t cope with the demand, asking from HMD Global even more shipments. Note also that the Chinese New Year celebrations didn’t help supply, so the company is trying to cope with the really high demand, when – at the same time- the phone has become available in the Philippines and soon in Germany.
Gizchina News of the week
According to JD.com:
Actually we have been updating the inventory on JD.com more than 3 times but those were usually gone within minutes or hours, so that’s why you have the impression that we were doing flash sales. We will keep supply to JD for sure and now the Chinese New Year holiday is mostly over and everybody’s back for work, you can expect more supplies in the coming days and weeks
why is this device so successful ?
Unnecessary hype over a brand that was thought to be dead. I don’t think Nokia’s 2nd phone will have this much hype once people realise its just another android with shitty battery life unless Nokia try to do something unique or have really high end specs. This does however show that brand power is very important, you can sell shitty low spec phones for far more than they’re worth.
Nokia is known for their build quality.
So it is a plus, but 2000ish RMB to a freaking SD430 or something? dafk? XD
OK thx, that’s pretty much what i was thinking too… Another sign of the end of time : ppl buy overpriced Nokia phones (and vote Trump).
We’re dooooooomed 🙁
consumers are mostly irrational, and the majority of producers prosper just because of these irrational consumers, that value brands and ads more than specs, quality and even price
Well at least they are off to a great start !!
The ball is in their court , hopefully they can do better with the pricing and specs next time !
