Qualcomm plans to release 3 new mid-range chipsets this year

I guess we all expect to see the real potential of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC but this isn’t the only chipset the company has high hopes for this year. According to a recent leak in Weibo, Qualcomm is working hard to maintain its position in the mid-range market, by introducing new SoC’s wiith impressive specs.

The new chipsets will be called Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 635 respectively, aimed to take the place of the Snapdragon 625 SoC. They will both use an 8-core arrangement with Cortex A53 processors, offering better power management and heat reduction.

Qualcomm, stop. Even Mediatek is moving on the ARM A72 core on their mid rangers. They are stopping to do Octas at A53.

And what make you think that qualcomm will listen to us ?

Qualcomm success will go on because they have sth important … the support! When you have Qualcomm based device chances for LineageOS or OmniROM are huge, when you have MediaTek or Spreadtrum based device you will have to buy a new device even if your current is still strong enough (i.e. Zoppo ZP980 which stayed on Android 4.2 forever and could work fluently with Android 7.1.1).
