FINALLY: Xiaomi enters Pakistan with Redmi Note 4 and more!

After a brief hiatus thanks to a bit of a shuffle in the top-order management (1, 2), Xiaomi are back to their global expansion plans.

After a rather successful 2.5-3 years in India, Xiaomi have now forayed into neighbour country Pakistan. They have done so by introducing the blockbuster Redmi Note 4 along with the affordable Redmi 4A and the high-end Mi Mix Mi Max. There’s no word yet on which version (MediaTek/Snapdragon) of the Redmi Note 4 will make it to Pakistan.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi will be working with Daraz in Pakistan as part of a distribution partnership.

It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out for Xiaomi — and Pakistani buyers — considering that Xiaomi usually indulge in online offerings. Coming weeks and months will tell us more about how well Xiaomi are received in Pakistan.

While it may undoubtedly seem like they’re a bit late to the party, Xiaomi’s track record has shown that they often don’t take too long to consolidate their position in new markets.

Its ridiculous, India has been asking for official launch of Mi Mix despite India being the cash cow for Xiaomi, they dont want to launch it but launch it in Pakistan – Shame on you for betraying India for not launching the high end devices and making it a dumping ground for all your unsold device models, may be the assembled Redmi’s from India might be heading to Pakistan for export.

Why should they launch the mix in india, people in india on love budget xiaomi all they ever talk about is redmi note 3, so majority of india looks at xiaomi as a cheap brand, so if they release an expensive phone nosy lokely people would say ” i wont pay 50k rupees for a xiaomi od rather buy a oneplus, oppo, samsung, or apple for that price

Because those brands have a premium image or is marketed that way everyone expects to see overpriced oppos for example but not xiaomi look how poorly the mi 5 did over there a flaghship, you maybe a knowledgable tech fan that will get a mi mix but the real cash bringers are ignorant customers that only care about image and they are the majority

I still say we deserve Mi MIX, considering the base for it in India to buy it & compared to other fancy cosmetic limited edition devices, it is still cheaper and there is market for it as compared to Pakistan

i am glad that Mi mix is not released..unless i am missing out on a spectacular camera…its great tech no doubt but 1 drop and the screen is as good as cracked….i want mi 6 with stellar camera to be released, can fork out max to max 35,000 INR if reqd..if camera is same as before..then dont care for any premium mi device…might well as opt for RN4 which gives much more for the buck

May be it is your own personal choice, but from an industry point of view & in order to instill the competition we need more players in this narrow band of limited edition devices, Mi MIX will put that fire to make the experience more perfumed and help consume the devices more with less shelf life….

oh my , i knew i was gonna get mentioned here 😀

jokes apart the prices are a ‘bit’ on the high side … but other than that everything’s cool , i just hope the introduce all their models. i’m hoping to see a really good ripple effect in the local market because NO other brands are offering even a REMOTELY similar package for the prices Xiaomi are offering all the features !

for instance , a 5″ samsung phone with Hd screen and horrible cam costs the SAME price as the redmi note 4’s introductory price in Karachi , i hope you can figure out the rest 😉

Yep. Glad something’s finally worked out for Mi and Pakistan … they MIGHT have to do a bit of work on pricing and introducing ALL their models but it’s looking good so far !
