Elephone Z1: A phone with 6GB of RAM at $189.99?

Elephone z1

It appears as the Elephone Z1 is getting launched regardless of how well the crowdfunding campaign works out in the end. The phone can be funded for $189.99 with an early bird pledge, this will go on until February 25th. Let’s see what the phone is about.

The Elephone Z1 is a premium looking handset crafted with both lumia-wave technique and In Molding Label technology (IML) to achieve a glossy and anti-scratch back cover.

The phone will feature a 5.5-inch display with 1.6mm super-slim bezel to cover up 82% of the front. It’ll be powered by an Helio P20 octa-core processor, an impressive 6GB of RAM — to get along with the competition —, 64GB of internal storage and USB type-C connectivity.

The cameras on the Elephone Z1 will be 13MP on the back while the front shooter will have a resolution of 8.0MP. The phone also packs a 3100mAh capacity battery.

As mentioned at the beginning, the Z1 is on Elephone’s own crowdfunding campaign which appears to me as a way to make customers pre-order their phone at a lower price, which wouldn’t be a bad deal considering you’re getting a device with 6GB of RAM for $189.99.

You can fund/pre-order the Elephone Z1 over at Elephone’s official website.
