It’s rumors day once again in China and today Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is in the “menu”. According to a leakster the Chinese company has already designed the Mi Max succesor dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and plans to unveil it in May!
Gizchina News of the week
All of the above come from a recent Weibo post saying that the purported model will stick to the same 6,44 inch display its predecessor had, but it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. It will have 6GB of RAM and 128 of internal storage along with microSD support and a 5000 mAh battery with Fast Charge feature.
As always we take these rumors with a pinch of salt, until we finally manage to confirm them, ok?
Really don’t see why they don’t just offer an 820/821 version for a bit more too.
Don’t think S660 will be much behind S82x, actually think it will future the same modem, old A510 GPU renamed to a A512 with a frequency bump remaining still half the size & cost of the A530 (which also means S660 SoC will be much cheaper as the GPU pretty much takes largest die size) still backed up with a LP DDR 4 (vs LP DDR3 on S65x SoC’s) will deliver 30~40% more performance compared to A510 which is of course less than a peak A530 one but in sustained long term will be able to match it as A510 didn’t throttle much contrary to the A530 & also just enough to match Rogue GPU performance of upcoming X35 MTK. A big cpu clusters remains the biggest mystery for a time being regarding S660 as earlier “leaks” indicated the Kryo first gen quad cluster but I really hope that wouldn’t be a case hoping for a much more efficient reference A73’s in any case (4xA53 & 4xA73/Kryo SMP performance will be better than S82x’s based on 2×2 cluster Kryo core’s.
So you see you don’t really need a S82x choice at all & engineering vise its a dumb SoC. All of this actually makes me confident how rumours about S660 won’t lunch until September are believable as QC doesn’t really want to cannibalise the S83x sails & that will be still in time to undercut the X3x sails.
and you never even noticed the phrase
“My poor Dick”
😀
Naturally I did, I’m fact that’s why I checked the name. You know I get very unpleasant when someone pokes with me. Simultaneous Multi Processing…
looks like its back to Parallel Processing 101 for you :p
TL;DR The 660 is just as good if not better than the 820

He only asked a random question… My poor Dick.
TL;DR The 660 is just as good if not better than the 820
Well he got extensive answer… All do we still need to see actual S660.
hey , @lazarprodanovic:disqus I KNOW WHAT SMP MEANS 😀 !
