Ulefone shows the Ulefone Power 2 for the first time at MWC

Another one from the batch of new upcoming Ulefone devices just got showcased for the first time at MWC 2017 in Barcelona and we have for you a little video about that. So check it out if you want to see the new Ulefone Power 2.

The Ulefone Power 2 looks like a nice midrange phone with a bit of a conservative design, but at least packing some decent hardware including the octa-core MT6750T chipset, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB of storage, metal unibody and mainly the massive 6050 mAh battery. The video shows the phone running an Android 7.0 Nougat build so that surely comes out of the box too.

According to the Ulefone officials more or less everything is ready and the model is ready for mass production very soon. We should be able to see the first presales sprout up before the end of March and let’s hope for some decent pricing.

Why would they put such and average CPU in the power 2, it’s basically the same as the MT6753 which was released about 3 years ago. They should have put a power efficient P20 into this!

I had an original Power, although not that high on benchmarks, for day to day use it was fast, no lagging, lasted 8 hours SOT which was more than enough, however when I had an issue with the screen after 4 months with no support from Ulefone, the Amazon marketplace vendor or Amazon I realised why the phone was cheap, such a didn’t as I loved the battery life.
I’ve got a LG G5 now which for day to day use is no faster, the camera though is a quantum leap better but only 3-4 at best SOT, thankfully you can swap that battery out, why I got it.

I just wish they would use more capacitive buttons instead of these onscreen buttons. I really hate those. Apart from that I agree with the others that a power efficient CPU would have been the better choice.
Regarding the Amoled discussion below, that is just unrealistic for a phone in the sub 200 EUR price range. Amoled start at 300+ EURs

  Yes that’s a big disappointment not to have capacitive buttons. If they had done a better CPU and buttons it would have been a good phone.
