It’s the feature we’ve all been waiting for, but many of us are still without Google Assistant so when will it actually arrive.
The most talked about feature these days is Google’s own Google Assistant, an artificial intelligence which brings a Siri-like personal assistant to Android smartphones. The feature first arrived on the Pixel and Pixel XL, but last week it was announced that other Android phones would get the feature too.
According to Google, any Android smartphone running Android 6.0 or higher with at least a HD display and 1.5GB RAM could receive the update, but that’s no guarantee that all phones with those specs will.
At the time of writing, we’ve heard that some OnePlus 3 owners are already reporting that they’ve received an OTA update to Google Services which has enabled the assistant, but I and many of you are still waiting for the update.
Gizchina News of the week
Of course, I can’t give you the exact date that you will receive the Google Assistant update on your Android smartphone, but I do have a few tips to try and speed the process up.
First of all, you should change your Android language to English U.S as Google is first rolling Assistant out to U.S English devices first then other English phones. Another tip which might help you receive GA earlier is to join the Google Service Beta program.
Other than that all we can do is wait until the update slowly rolls out.
Do you have Google Assistant on your Android device? If so please tell us which phone you are running, where you are and any of your own tips to enable it.
actually it was rather easy to make it work on any nougat phone like mi5 even in 2016
the provlem for them is only two languages
And how exactly do you enable it on mi5 and other nougat phones? Thats the question Andi asked. Just telling us you can enable is means nothing to most of us that want to use it.
