The recently launched Elephone C1 Max comes with a big 6-inch display for a more immersive media consumption experience, but what may have gone under the radar is that the phone also features a dual camera setup. But how does it actually work?
Elephone C1 Max’s cameras, just like those on premium Huawei devices, differ in that one captures colors like any ordinary camera, while the other one only takes monochrome (black and white) pictures. Capturing the scene directly in monochrome allows to get more shading details which are then added to the final composed image.
This setup also creates clearer photos with richer colors, which would be harder to get on a single sensor.

Other than the two cameras, the Elephone C1 Max also features a large 6-inch display coated in 2.5D glass and a matte metal body with curved edges to better fit in your hands.
The Elephone C1 Max runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, bringing a faster interface and improved battery life. Learn more about it over at Elephone’s official website.
