So it wasn’t the Nubia Z17 after all, but instead the Nubia M2 with dual camera and AMOLED display.
Nubia’s launched turned into a trio of phone launches today. We’ve already covered details of the Nubia N2, a phone with large 5000mAh battery and 2 day battery life, and there was also the M2 Lite, but this was the star of the show.
As expected, the latest Nubia phone has dual cameras on the rear, hardly surprising as the phone was leaked on TENAA just yesterday. The rear cameras are both 13 mega-pixel sensor for Sony and are set up to take either colour or black and white photos natively.
Gizchina News of the week
The M2 is a 5.5-inch phone like it’s launch brothers, but this phone has a FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution and an AMOLED panel. Below the screen is that newly redesigned Nubia home button/fingerprint scanner, a design which looks a lot better on this flagship model.
Qualcomm provides the processing power this time around with an octacore Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.
Of the 3 phones the M2 is the thinnest of the Nubia trio with a thickness of only 7mm despite a decent 3600mAh battery and fast charging.
Other details for the Nubia M2 include the memory options from 64GB to 128GB, space for a 200GB SD card, Dolby Surround 7.1 and HIFI TAS2555 audio, 16 megapixel front camera, and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass display.
Pricing starts at 2699 Yuan for the black and gold 4GB+64GB version.
Nubia kind of started the bezeless trend with the Z9, they should stick to it instead of releasing a phone with such an uninspired design. All dual cameras are a gimmick but if there’s one company that will be able to utilise it well, its Nubia.
