Huawei’s good times are facing a serious upset this week as courts in the UK could impose a sales injunction on the company.
Huawei’s sales have been going from strength to strength, not only in China, but internationally, but just as customers in the UK gear up for the launch of new Huawei device in their market, the brand faces a serious issue.
A High Court Ruling on Wednesday states that Huawei should pay Unwired Planet, a U.S patent owner, royalties for networking technology. The High Court says that Huawei must pay in the UK only and if they fail to do so could see a ban on smartphone sales in the market.

While you might think that Huawei would be upset about the ruling, they actually welcomed the decision as the cost is much less than Unwired Planet had originally hoped.
That said though, Huawei hasn’t announced if it plans to make the payment to stay in the UK, a relatively small market for the company, of if they will simply cancel smartphone operations there.
