- Rugged phone maker AGM is looking for custom ROM developers for the AGM X1 smartphone.
The AGM X1 is a rugged smartphone with a couple of very important differences. This IP68 certified smartphone boasts a large battery like most rugged phones, but also boasts dual 13 megapixel cameras on the rear for enhanced photography.
As AGM has used a Qualcomm chipset in the AGM X1 it has allowed the phone maker to open up sources so that ROM developers were able to offer a build of Lineage OS for the phone. With that milestone out of the way, the Android 7.0 sources for the AGM X1 will now be released so that more developers can have a hand in creating their own ROMS.
Gizchina News of the week
Anyone wanting to take part in the development will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement (this is a requirement from Qualcomm rather than AGM) however those who create the most popular ROMS will be in for the chance of winning their own AGM X2 flagship once released!
If you are interested in Android ROM development and want to get involved then contact AGM via their contact page, Facebook or over on the XDA Developers forum.
