After the HTC U Ultra, which was nothing short of a disaster, HTC is set to unveil the HTC U on the 16th of May. Just a few days after the photos of the U were leaked, the Taiwanese manufacturer is set to release the HTC U in Taiwan.

According to the specs that were leaked, the HTC U will be powered by a Snapdragon 835, coupled with the Adreno 540 GPU. It will pack a 5.5 inch quad HD(1440 x 2560) display and run Android Nougat 7.0 on top. It will house 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal memory whereas the Chinese variant will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. It is rumored to have a 16 MP front facing and 12 MP rear camera.
The most unique feature of this phone is the “Edge Sense”, which will allow the user to squeeze the frame or do certain gestures to open apps or take photos without touching the screen.
It’s no surprise that HTC is struggling to keep up with the other manufacturers, but after the U Ultra going down so bad in history, does it have a chance to gain back its footing with U? Only time will tell.
