ZUK Mobile is going to shut down, according to analyst Pan Jiutang

I guess if this turns out to be true, it will have major impact on a lot of customers. News came originally from a weibo user (@Old Cool) who mentioned that there will be no ZUK Z3 model and then his post was replied by well known analyst Pan Jiutang who added that ZUK Mobile is going to shut down in the coming weeks!

Lenovo had already announced a couple of months ago that it was planning to integrate all of its brands under one umbrella, after facing several problems with Motorola Mobility. The original plan was for all its phone brands to be placed under the Lenovo Moto umbrella but what no one expected was for ZUK Mobile to be also included in this.

In case you don’t remember, ZUK Mobile was founded on May 28, 2015 and during these two years managed to produce 4 smartphones: ZUK Z1, ZUK Z2, ZUK Z2 Pro, and the ZUK Edge. Earlier this year we managed to see some leaked photos of an upcoming model called ZUK Edge II Special Edition but now this isn’t going to happen, and the device isn’t expected to hit the market.

In case however you loved the company’s ZUI, there are good news for you, after the announcement by Lenovo’s VP Alex Chen Yu, that it will be used for upcoming Moto phones.

Compare ZUK Mobile, I think the Blackview A9 Pro is more suitable for the rest of us.

That’s a real shame. The Z2 wasn’t perfect, with some criticisms aimed at the screen, but it was great value at the price, whilst the Z2 Pro was one of the best Chinese flagships of 2016. I had been waiting for news of the Z3 to leak.

  It’s supposed to be one new brand called Lenovo Moto. The new Vibe model is supposedly the first that will have this branding.

Wtf. Lenovo us really gone mad. It is killing the most significant contender to xiaomi. Zuk is a stable and premium phone. I used z2 pro for 3 months and I must say it’s very very good. Software is amazingly stable and unique features like heartattak is excellent. It is one that could have given op and mi run for money.

  Zuk wasn’t even close to being the most significant contender to Xiaomi. They made some good devices but they weren’t competing with Xiaomi on any level. Xiaomi isn’t even the top company anymore, that’s Oppo, Vivo and Huawei.

    Huawei with the scandal of their P10 is about to hit the bottom again….
    And also… Oppo started to lose market too fast thanks to Mediatek ‘no updating’ way to do the things…

      Huawei just surpasses Oppo to become #1 in China for the first quarter of 2017. The truth is the scandal is something for nerds like us who visit sites like this. The average consumer couldn’t tell you the difference between different storage formats and thus will and have continued to buy P10’s.

        Not when the following updates starts to discover the underutilization of the processor.. And people will start to complain.
        Also UFS has way lesser performance degradation compared to eMMC.

i still remeber theyr first comercial, opullence, expensive cars , and a phone with medium specs but with prices as high as possible. What can i say, if the company would bring an important amount of proffit, it will have kept its journey

  This scandal will have minimal impact on Huawei in China.
