Phone maker Geotel has gifted us a render of their new Amigo smartphone for the May Holiday (if you’re lucky enough to have a May Holiday) and we have to say that this is a breath of fresh air.
The Geotel Amigo features the all-powerful 64Bit Octa core, MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB memory, so while it isn’t a flagship phone the specs are more than up to the job of everyday use. What really get’s us going though is the refreshing design.
Geotel has really put some thought into the design of the Amigo and have touched on the aesthetics of the rear in particular with a clever combination of the main 13 megapixel camera and dual LED flash. Speaking of the rear camera, Geotel says they plan to spec a sensor with PDAF and for the selfie enthusiast we can see that the front 5 megapixel sensor also benefits from dual LED front flashes.
Gizchina News of the week
A 3000mAh battery is about standard for a 5.2-inch smartphone as is the inclusion a memory card slot but we don’t usually see one that can accept 256GB cards. Other features of the Amigo include a 2.5D glass panel, fingerprint scanner and… well look at the design;
Geotel hasn’t confirmed the launch price of the Amigo but we don’t believe it’s going to be overly expensive and in fact might go on sale for much less than you might expect. Keep an eye on www.geotel.cc for more information.
>”A breath of fresh air”
>uses a 2 years old chip, not to mention the most hated chipset in mediatek’s history
>clones the worst camera design ever, the moto’s one.

Loooool exactly what I thought.
Nononono my friend the most hated soc is the 6580 EASILY, apart from that this phone is a breath of polluted air design wise
6580 gets my vote too, along with mt6735 1ghz. But 6753 has its share of hate, since it replaced the way better mt6752.
it’s stupid that they didn’t improve upon the 6752 !
a 6752T or X would have been an actual place holder for the x30 and a worthy transition SoC !
it’s a damn shame ..
Maybe, 6750 and 6750T are the upgraded version of infamous MT6752, which still runs flawlessly on my old K3 Note.
Don’t know, 6580 is trash but it’s found inside low budget phones, 6753 is sold as a “flagship” while it’s one of the worst chips ever… Not to mention, it’s been used while we all were waiting for p10, so all in all it’s been a double torture compared to 6580… Woah, let’s just say we all hate those socs ans roll with that lol
Why is the mediatek chip hated? I had the Lenovo K3 note and it was good with its mtk6752.
Well, many people hate mediatek with no precise reason, but I was talking about mt6753, not all the socs in general
yeah , MTK was pretty good when it beat out SD 810 with the 6752 and STILL can do sth if it scores with its x30
people should be thankful MTK is there to give SD a run , elsewise you would see horrible prices even on budget phones !
Haha that’s exactly the comment I was gonna make. Add that it’s only a render and the rest of the design (not the camera) is basically the same as every phone.
The Phone is actually meant for the camera centric consumers and to be precise, The moto design is a little more different from what the Amigo looks. 🙂
Also, I’ve been using a Chinese handset from a quite a few days and the chip isnt that bad too if the software is quite optimised from the brand.
