Google made a bold move to end their Nexus line of devices last year, premiering a new line of Google supported devices called the Pixel phones. While the original Google Pixel had a somewhat bland design, it still sold and performed extremely well, especially for a first device.
The success of the Google Pixel has apparently prompted Google to start working on its successor, the Pixel 2. New code commits at AOSP show hints of development for the Walleye, the codename for what will allegedly be the smaller version of the Google Pixel 2.

While this doesn’t mean much yet, it does show that the Pixel was successful enough to Google to warrant a successor. Whether they’ll change design aspects of the new devices remains to be seen, though it’ll definitely be exciting to watch for updates on the new device.
