The latest MGCOOL Explorer Pro action camera from the Chinese accessories maker MGCOOL has been hyped a lot by the company for possibly bringing 4K recording at a much lower price point. Now they’re going to officially launch it on May 11th after their announcement on Facebook.

MGCOOL has partnered up with online retailers like Gearbest, coolicool, Banggood and Geekbuying to launch the camera globally at the same exact time.
As you can see in the image above, the action camera will be on sale for $39.99 up until May 31st, after that price will go back up to $69.99. Given the difference in price, the camera might go out of stock, so get one as soon as you can if you’re interested.

As far as specs go, the MGCOOL Explorer Pro features a Allwinner V3 processor, a Sony IMX179 sensor, 2-inch display and a Sharkeye 170-degree angles lens. The camera supports H.264 video compression and can record 4K videos at 30fps.
The Explorer Pro can snap 16MP photos all the way up from 2MP, it includes a WiFi module which lets you control the camera through an app up to 13 meters away and it is 30m waterproof. The camera is powered by a 1050mAh battery which allows you to record 4K videos for about 100 minutes, the Explorer Pro also takes microSD cards up to 64GB.
