Vivo are fresh off their latest launch in India, the Vivo V5S, successor to the Vivo V5 Plus. And like its predecessor, it too has a 20MP front facing camera as its main selling point. But what else has changed since the last iteration of this line?
Things are mostly the same for both of the devices, really. The V5S is, if anything, a downgraded version of the Vivo V5 Plus. It has the MediaTek MT6570 processor @ 1.5GHz, as well as 5.5-inch 720p covered by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The rear features a 13MP rear facing camera with PDAF and a dual LED flash. The main focus is on the single 20MP front facing camera, flanked by Vivo’s Moonlight Glow flash. Aside from that, the only other selling point is the AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip in the device.
The Vivo V5S sports an average sized 3,000mAh battery, which is fine. it weighs in at 154 grams, and measures 153.8×75.5×7.55mm. Honestly, it’s not a very interesting device to talk about, especially at its Rs. 18,990 price ($294). There are a lot of better alternatives at much lower price points.
