It’s so hard to please all the customers these days, especially when you design a smartphone in specific color options. There are always those who want a special color variation, something more “personal” or even something to stand out from the crowd. Huawei Mate 9 is now one of those smartphones “trying” to please everyone, after having added two more color variants to its lineup!
They are called Agate Red and Topaz Blue, they look awesome and they’re a great addition to the previous colors we all know so far:Â gold, silver, coffee, white, gray, and obsidian black.
Gizchina News of the week
Obviously these two new variants have no hardware alterations or even software differentiations if you must ask, so their specs remain the same and include a 5.9 inch full HD display, a Kirin 960 8-core SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB ROM, an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.9 and a dual camera setup on its back with 20MP + 12MP lens, featuring f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 2x zoom, Leica optics, phase detection & laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash.
There’s also a 4000 mAh battery inside with fast charging compatibility, along with USB Type-C, dual-band WiFi, Android 7.0.1 Nougat etc. If you’re in love with these two new colors then you can buy them for 3899 yuan ($561) starting May 14, but they’re available only with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM storage.
The previous Mate 9 colours were the same colour back and front. These new ones, from the pics, seem to be coloured only on the backs, not the fronts. This is completely uninteresting to me. I have commented on several blogs about OEM’s who cut corners by putting nice colours on the back but leaving the front bezels black. Cheaper but not as attractive.
Oh, great! I just bought the champagne model… Same thing happened to me a week before the black came out for OP3T and I got the Gunmetal version…
