The Huawei Honor 9 is slated for a June 27 launch. There are currently no real photos of the device available. But a recent leak suggested a dual camera setup on the rear. The latest leak shows the alleged Honor 9 in, what we assume is probably a press shoot for the Honor 9 launch. The image was posted on China’s social network, Weibo.
There is no confirmation if this is the real Honor 9. What we could infer from the image is a glossy silver back with a dual camera setup which looks similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi6. The man pictured is using wireless earphones, hinting towards the absence of a 3.5mm jack. These images are in accordance to the images that were leaked in the first half of this month. The images showed the lack of a 3.5mm jack. The USB Type-C was on the bottom flanked by the microphone and speaker grill. It also confirms the presence of a dual camera setup, although the Leica branding is missing. The dual camera setup is rumored to be a setup of a monochrome and an RGB sensor, similar to the one used in the Huawei P10.
Gizchina News of the week
The design of the Huawei Honor 9 deviates a little from it’s predecessor, the Honor 8. The fingerprint sensor lies on the front instead of the back as was the case in the Honor 8.
Expected to run on the Kirin 960 SoC coupled with 4/6GB of RAM and Android Nougat, the Honor 9 is a much awaited phablet. We might have to wait till the official unveiling on June 27, unless we get our hands on more leaks. Watch this space for more!
