The Huawei Nova 2 series has been making the rounds online for quite a while now. And Huawei has finally launched the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus in China. These are successors to the Nova and Nova Plus. The Nova series is the mid range offering from Huawei.
With the Nova 2 series, Huawei has brought the dual camera setup in the mid range market. The Huawei Nova 2 sports a 5 inch display with a 1080p resolution. Under the hood it runs the octa core Kirin 659 processor clocked at 2.36GHz. The Mali T830 MP2 GPU powers the graphics on this phone. The Huawei Nova 2 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.1 on top. In the camera department, the phone sports a dual camera setup of 12MP and 8MP sensors on the back and a 20MP sensor on the front. The fingerprint sensor is on the back below the camera setup. The Huawei Nova 2 is fueled by a 2,950mAh battery which supports fast charging. Huawei claims the Nova 2 can go from 0 to 100% in 100 minutes. The connectivity options are the same with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.

The Nova 2 Plus, as the name suggests, is a bigger variant of the Nova 2. It comes with a 5.5 inch 1080p display and gets an upgrade in the storage department with 128GB of onboard storage. The Huawei Nova 2 Plus also features a bigger, 3,340mAh battery. Rest of the internals remain the same.
The Huawei Nova 2 is priced at 2499 Yuan($365), whereas the Nova 2 Plus will be sold at 2899 Yuan ($420) in China, although we expect these phones to launch soon in other markets. The shipping starts on the 16th of June in China. The devices are made of metal and will be available in Aurora Blue, Grass Green, Streamer Gold, Obsidian Black, and Rose Gold color variants.
