Well this is surely good news guys, especially for all those Xiaomi fans out there. The Xiaomi Mi6C model appeared earlier today on GFXBench under the code name “Xiaomi Jason” and it packs impressive specs as you will soon see.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the listing, the device packs a 5.1-inch Full HD display and it’s powered by the latest 2.2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 512GPU. It offers 64GB of internal storage space out of which 50GB is available to the user.
The most awaited mid-ranger features a 12MP main camera with 4K video recording capability, and a 4MP selfie camera for impressive portraits. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with company’s own MiUI but it also features NFC, GPS, Compass, etc.
We have no other info on its design, price or availability but we hope to see some more leaks in coming days. What do you think about it?
Localizing the Mi5c is a pain. I wonder if it gets better and easier with 6c.
Wait…isn’t that the Redmi Pro 2?
Because the Mi XC were supposed to deliver the in house chip.
Make a 4gb ram option and price it around $250…I’d buy
It is crazy to use a discount CPU and slap an absurd amount of ram to it.
Personally, I see no need for more than 4gb ram regardless of SoC, but I am probably in the minority on this.
Hi Jh1, I have read some comments you posted on different websites. I have seen that you own a Redmi 4 Prime for a long time now. After software updates, have you noticed any improvements in the following areas: camera department, sound recording when shooting some videos, mic noise issue? I am asking this because I am hesitating between the Redmi Note 4 Global Edition and the Redmi 4 Prime (dark grey). The last one is around 165€ and the RN4 is sold at 137€. I would love to wait for new devices like the MI6C or Redmi Pro 2 but I don’t know when these devices will be announced and released. Both phones have similar specs and the advantage of the Redmi 4 Prime is its compactness. That being said, my favorite screen size is 5.2″. Your help is welcome!
Hi Marc. The redmi 4 prime is a great little phone. Very good build quality, battery life is superb. I never experienced the mic issue that many complained of. Camera performance was average. Good photos under good lighting conditions, pretty poor ones under poor lighting. I haven’t seen what changes the most recent updates have brought about because I have the phone to my dad. My current phone is a meizu m5 note, which has a better camera, screen, and even better build quality than the redmi 4 prime, with nearly as good of battery life. I do prefer the redmi 4 prime SD 625 processor over the Helio p10 though. Personally, if I were buying another phone at the moment, it would probably be the redmi note 4x with SD 625. Nothing against the redmi 4 prime, as I was very happy with it overall, but the better camera and screen of the note 4x (and perhaps even better battery life ) would make it my top choice, as long as you aren’t too put off by the 5.5inch screen. The Zuk z2 is a decent option for a 5 inch phone with good specs as well. I personally prefer MIUI or Flyme over ZUI, but it the Zuk is definitely a decent option.
Hi Jh1, thank you very much for your feedback! The Redmi Note 4 Global Edition is in fact a Redmi Note 4X with the additional 4G Band 20. It has a SD625 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is also a prime variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage but I guess that 3GB RAM will be more than enough for my needs. Regarding the back camera on the Redmi Note 4 Global Edition, some buyers have a Sony sensor and the others a Samsung sensor. I mean that it’s a kind of a lottery. I have a preference for the RN4 matte black edition or the dark grey color.
Meizu M5 Note is indeed a nice phone with an amazing build quality.
The black note 4x/global looks spectacular. Can’t go wrong with that. I have heard mixed reports on the camera. Some say the Sony sensor is superior, others have said that with the recent updates you can’t tell the difference between the 2 sensors. Hopefully you’ll end up with a phone you’re happy with.
Hi Jh1, thank you for your nice message. At the moment, Banggood is selling the ZUK Z2 Pro brand new with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at 236€. Unfortunately, they only have the white version of the ZUK Z2 Pro in stock. Honestly, white is not my favorite color but I am thinking that the ZUK Z2 Pro will have a better longevity than the RN4 Global Edition. What do you think?
The Zuk z2 pro is definitely a better phone than the rn4. I haven’t had any personal experience with it, but I have used the Zuk z2. Updating to the stock rom isn’t very difficult. I was able to switch between the Indian and Chinese ROMs without problems. I assume it is the same for the z2 pro. Zukfans.eu is a very useful resource.
I do agree with you, Zuk Z2 Pro is way better than the RN4. That being said, one is considered as a flagship and the other one a mid-range device. Mi5s is currently sold at 245€ on Banggood, 236€ for the Zuk Z2 Pro and 135€ for the RN4. I will order one phone tonight. Take care!
Hope you find one you like. At those prices I’d go with the RN4….but I’ve always been cheap ?
Hi Jh1, thank you for your message. I still have to make my choice. 😀
I trust your words regarding the ZUK Z2 Pro which is a fantastic phone, it offers a lot for the money and moreover it has the Band 20 LTE which is used in my country. I have never tested MIUI in my life so I would go for a phone made by Xiaomi even if a MIUI ROM exist for the ZUK Z2 Pro. I have seen so many complaints about the MI5S, the build quality is not perfect for the volume buttons (they make noise when using them) and the fingerprint scanner is not the best. That being said, some users updated their device with the ROM developed by Xiaomi.eu and it looks like the fingerprint scanner is working perfectly. Some MI5S owners do have the issue with the buttons, some don’t have this problem (maybe new batch). I am waiting for the best offer in the market then I will make my decision. The RN4 is still at the top of my list. Thank you for your help! Cheers.
As far as ROM’s go, I much prefer MIUI to ZUI, having used both, though I think Meizu’s Flyme is my favorite overall. ZUI had some issues with notifications being delayed and alarms not functioning. It was a simple fix, but proved annoying to some. MIUI is not without it’s issues, but I haven’t experienced any significant bugs. The fingerprint sensor on the mi5s is definitely a bit of a weak point.
I checked Xda on my side in order to update the software of the Zuk Z2 Pro and it is not an easy job. I will do some research and make my decision. The MI5S is also tempting but it has a few minor downsides. Have a great day.
In that price range I’d probably be looking at the mi5/mi5s or the honor 8. Not that they are better phones than the Zuk z2 pro, just personal preference. All are good choices. The meizu x (m3x) and e2 are nice options if you like Flyme os.
