Coolpad is a Chinese phone manufacturer that we don’t write about much here on Gizchina. The reason for this is that they rarely release noteworthy devices. Anything that they release tends to sit on the underwhelming end of the spectrum.
This is clearly visible from the arrival of the Coolpad Defiant at T-mobile. The device features some unremarkableĀ specs, including aĀ 5-inch 854 x 480 FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and an unnamed 1.4GHz processor. It’s fairly disappointing in a lot of ways.

The device also features some other interesting choices like a 5MP main camera, 2MP front camera and a 2,450mAh battery. As you can see, the device is pretty unremarkable. We honestly hope Coolpad releases something that’s worth releasing soon.

I was under the impression that Coolpad released good cheap phones in India and China, like Coolpad Note 3 and Coolpad Note 3 Lite that had very good reviews for their time. That’s why LeEco bought them because they already had a good brand name in India and China.
Also Antutu’s April’s list for most cost effective phones just happened to have 2 Coolpad phones out of the top 3. They’re also making their own UI and are getting an updated EUI from LeEco. If that’s the underwhelming end of the spectrum, then that’s a really really small spectrum.
