Nokia 9 has been spotted yet again with 6GB of RAM on Geekbench. Previously it was spotted with 4GB and 8GB RAM. This indicates the existence of three different variants of the Nokia 9.
The device was identified by the “Unknown Heart” name by which this device was listed. If you’re wondering how the Unknown Heart name translates to anything remotely Nokia, you have HMD Global as the culprit here. HMD Global is the company that holds the rights to manufacturing Nokia devices.
Gizchina News of the week
The listing on Geekbench hints towards an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset clocked at 1.9GHz, which we are speculating is the Snapdragon 835, a chipset fit for a flagship. Also visible is the amount of RAM, which is 6GB in this particular variant. There is no surety as to whether this model will be named Nokia 9. HMD might just be testing some prototypes which might not even see the light of day.
Currently the strategy of launching smartphones with multiple variants has allowed many manufacturers to Target more than one segment of users. Nokia used this strategy while selling the Nokia 6, a mid ranger. Similarly, brands like Nubia have also adopted a similar approach, with their latest flagship, the Nubia Z17 coming in three variants.
We are unsure as to when we will get to see Nokia’s full fledged return to the smartphone market. Will this Unknown Heart be its saving grace? Only time will tell!
