I guess this is good news (and… better late than never). According to a Developer page for Core NFC notes, it seems that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models can read NFC tags (!), with iOS 11 installed.
Here’s what the specific pages mentions:
“For example, your app might give users information about products they find in a store or exhibits they visit in a museum.”
Gizchina News of the week
Don’t get your hopes up however, since there’s no mention yet of writing to tags and more importantly, no device-to-device communication. What’s certain is that when iOS 11 is released NFC functionality is going to be open to third-party apps, allowing for more features and possibilities as you can understand.
That’s all we know for now guys, but it sure looks interesting to finally see if Apple will support the NFC tag, or if the Apple Watch be able to use NFC for the same reasons!
What do you think? Perhaps Apple admits defeat and changes their opinion?
That’s totally fake. Makes no sense. That’s a hardware component. No way a software update will make it suddenly appear. Worst part they didn’t even mentioned anything about that neither in the iPhone 7 or the WWDC. Waaay worse… The iPhone 7 has an metal back, it can’t have NFC or wireless charging trough metal. FAKE!!!!
The hell are you talking about…No NFC in Iphone 7? Then how do you think apple pay works??? Iphone 7 DO have NFC chips, and yes a software update can modify the way it interacts with NFC tags. I really hope you were trolling…

Maybe they’ll add support for Android Pay:), which is much more popular.
