Roland Quandt, the notorious tipster once again made some interesting tweets recently, this time regarding the next-gen Snapdragon 450 SoC, that will appear in benchmarks under the codename SDM450 and it’s the successor to the SD435 SoC, the most powerful low-end chipset in the market we can currently find in several models such as Xiaomi Redmi 4X, Huawei Y7 Prime etc.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the leaks, the new System-on-Chip will be equipped with 8 Cortex A53 cores, a new GPU clocked at 600MHz and it will be built on the 14nm architecture, not 28nm (thankfully). It is expected to offer low power consumption features like the Snapdragon 625 and 626 mobile platforms due to its configuration. and offer Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility for fast charging, something that low-end Android smartphones desperately need.
There’s no official info on a possible launch of this new chipset by Qualcomm but if we take into account that there’s still huge piles of Snapdragon 435 stock left, we will probably see the new chipset by the end of this year, or perhaps early 2018.
