Gizchina News of the week
It packs a dual camera equipped with two sensors: 16MPixels Sony f/1.7 + 20MPixels Sony f/2.6 telephoto, dual tone LED flash, Fast Auto Focus and a 16Mpixels selfie camera positioned just above the AMOLED display.
The OnePlus 5 is the company’s thinnest flagship yet, measuring just 7.25mm but still it comes with a relatively average 3300 mAh battery with support for the Dash Charge technology that allows it to charge faster than the one inside Samsung Galaxy S8, offering impressive standby times.
By the way, the 3.5mm headphone jack lives on, still on the bottom of the phone where it belongs!
The device will be available in two colors Midnight Black and Slate Grey with a starting price of 479$ in the US and 499 Euros in Europe and it will be available starting June 27!

So? What do you think about it guys? You like its price I guess?
I’m not.
Already own a OP3 not really an upgrade and too expensive even for the lower model.
Had hoped for at least two new features/upgrades — 4000mAh Battery and dual cam. Dual cam alone is not worth the price.
I owned both op3 and op3t. there were obvious differences in the performance between those 2. Not forgetting the front cam and the obvious OIS. I think you will definitely see a performance jump on the op5 too cause I also own the Mi 6 (835) and the camera, obviously. 4000mAh batt, you can’t have it all. Even the Mi 6 won’t fit a 4000mAh in their flagships.
How is $479, too expensive? Are there any 835 comparison that has a 6GB ram that you can kindly point too besides the Mi 6? At those specs, anything below $500 can be considered cheap.
In Europe it´s more expensive than US…that´s not good…
US: 430€
EU: 500€
That would have been my first question, why? Second how do they dare to talk about impressive standby times? Screen On Time does matter. 3300 was average even in last year. What is the good in dash charge if I have to carry around the special “dash-able” charger?
Well, it’s because 835 is more efficient. I can confirm this because even on my Mi 6, I’m getting an average SOT of almost 6hrs with average usage on such battery capacity for the Mi 6. and I’m sure this can be further improved since the firmware is rather on the early stages and I’m on the developers ROM. Dash charge works differently than QC. Best you google or YouTube it on how it works and the differences.
