Better late than never Meizu. It’s been almost over a year since Google announced their Android 7.0 Nougat OS and the Chinese company managed to announce the list of compatible smartphones to receive the specific update.
So if you’re a proud owner of the Meizu:
Gizchina News of the week
- Pro 6 Plus
- Pro 6
- Pro 6s
- Pro 5
- MX6
- M5 Note
- M3 Note
- M3 Max
then you’re in luck because you’re eligible to register for the open beta program starting tomorrow through July 2. The actual update is expected to roll out on July 10.
Meizu has one more reason to be happy however, with the company celebrating tomorrow the 5-year anniversary of Flyme OS, the company’s custom Android overlay 🙂 Happy birthday Flyme OS 😉
I’m really disappointed with my M2 (Mini). It’s stuck on Android 5.1 (even though it continues to receive updates to Flyme) and is still vulnerable to Stagefright.
What is worst, is that Meizu long ago remove the ability to move apps to SD card. This means I’m constantly running low on space, and have had to remove a number of apps to free up space. I’m using Link2SD to do this right now. But, as soon as I install another OTA update, I’ll have to root the phone and configure Link2SD again.
I could live with the old Android version if it was not for missing move to SD function.
How could you leave out the MX5!!!!
