UMIDIGI’s thinnest big battery flagships — UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro — are finally out on presale. You can get these two good looking devices starting at just $229.99 for the UMIDIGI Z1 — that’s a $40 off discount during presale. In addition to that, you can also win an UMIDIGI Z1 for free on UMIDIGI’s official website; but before heading there, let’s learn more about these handsets.
UMIDIGI’s flagships selling point is in no doubt their design, even more so if we’re looking at the UMIDIGI Z1 Pro. The phone has been carefully designed to look like a real premium device, mostly taking inspiration from the iPhone 7 Plus, but that’s not necessarily bad at it costs an order of magnitude less than the said handset.
The UMIDIGI Z1 Pro is also super slim at just 6.95mm of thickness and that’s why it gets the “thinnest flagship” catch-phrase, this is more impressing as the phone packs a big 4000mAh battery inside the small enclosure. UMIDIGI say this saving of space was mostly due to the use of AMOLED panels instead of the usual LCD ones, that meant a 30% in thickness.

Other specs include an octa-core and power efficient MediaTek CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz, a whopping 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This hardware is the same on both the UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro.
What differentiates the two devices is the thickness, the plain Z1 is indeed thicker at 8.2mm and it uses an LCD panel instead of the AMOLED display used on the Pro version.
Camera wise, both phones will pack a dual camera setup on the back with a primary 13MP camera and a secondary 5MP shooter, for DSLR-like photos. Same 5MP resolution for the selfie camera on the front.
The UMIDIGI Z1 and Z1 Pro will be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box, for a feature-rich experience and a better battery management algorithm.
You can get the UMIDIGI Z1 for just $229.99 from Banggood, Gearbest, Coolicool and AliExpress. Meanwhile the more premium UMIDIGI Z1 Pro will be limited to 1000 units and available also on Banggood, Gearbest, Coolicool and AliExpress.
