The Moto M saw the light in the last quarter of 2016, offering a premium build quality at a mid range pricing. Earlier only exclusive to China, the phone was later made available to other markets. It’s alleged successor, the Moto M2 is expected to launch in October, states leakster Andri Yatim.

Andri tweeted the month of the launch and also a couple of specs of the device. Apparently, the phone will have a 5.5 inch 1080p display and will be available in two versions, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. He also mentioned that it will sport a cutting edge MediaTek processor.
This isn’t the first time we are getting reports of the M2. Earlier, a Moto device with the model number XT1920-2 popped up on the WiFi Alliance page. Another smartphone, the XT1920-3 popped up on Geekbench. There are speculations that these two are different variants of the Moto M2. Motorola went for different processor configurations for the Moto M depending on the market it was being sold in. In China, it sported a Helio P10 processor whereas the Indian variant sported a Helio P15 processor.
Motorola has an arsenal of devices ready for this year. The Moto M2 might just be one of them. But as of now other than leaks and rumors, there’s no solid information surrounding this smartphone. So stay tuned for updates!
