Ulefone F2 with infinity display and 8GB RAM coming soon

Apparently Ulefone engineers are already onboard the Samsung S8 clone train and working on the Ulefone F2 model, which is “heavily inspired” by the Korean flagship. At least in the design department, because they are planning to be quite generous with the memory and plant whopping 8 GB RAM to the phone.

Ulefone F2 will be featuring the so-called infinity display with almost zero side bezels and minimal upper and lower bezels. It should be a 5,7-inch screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and unknown resolution. The phone will be carrying the aforementioned massive 8 GB RAM and also a dual rear camera setup. Rest of the specs and release date plus price are still shrouded in mystery so we have to wait a bit more for that.

Very good. I hope they give it a befitting SoC (Helio X30 minimum) and big enough battery. If they do, I’m definitely buying this once it launches

  i’m afraid it will be another stupid p25 phone … i still am hoping for good infinity display and decent dual cam (true dual cams , maybe ? how is that Gemini Pro coming along btw ?? )
  IF they somehow manage a SD 821 , it’ll be a very good phone !
  a helio x30 is great ! SD 835 means they’ll beat everyone else in the competition (Doogee,Umi and even Meizu !)

    If the phone will actually have an 8GB of RAM, then it’s not going to be Helio P25 phone. I’m not sure the P25 supports 8GB of RAM.

        Helio X30, Snapdragon 821, Snapdragon 835. Those are the ones I know. I don’t know about the latest Samsung Exynos if they support up to 8GB RAM.

    You are better off with a SD660 than a SD821. Krait was a turd, big core , not much perf, very high power.That’s why Qualcomm is using A73 now instead of Krait.

        It is hard to find info as review sites suck and few are interested in saying it as it is- they make money from the same guys that make the products they review.

lol another one with huge bezels.
The branding of the damn display tells them its purpose, to enable small bezels and they somehow stick with what they know…
The upper and lower bezels add up to about 20mm, they need to shave off at least 5mm to match something like the S8.
And BTW that display is 18:9 not 18.5:9.

    Why?
    The entire point of those displays is to allow smaller bezels while keeping the device size similar, that’s the point of 18:9.
    What they are doing is like trying to milk a lamppost. Elephone has one such device too, great job lol.

        It’s not really cloning , thinner and thinner bezels have been a trend since smartphones were invented.
        They took a break for a couple of years but the end goal has always been no bezel at all.
        This year Apple is likely to get closest to that but it seems they’ll have a pretty thick frame all around, there is room for better.

        Pardon me, but I have a very poor knowledge of the 18/5:9 dimensions for display
        What do those dimensions, in rough and possibly marketing lingo, means for the screen appearance ?

        Depends how you look at it.
        The cover glass extends to the edge of the device anyway, covering the bezels and if it breaks it breaks no matter the size of the bezel.
        If the actual display under the glass breaks, well, that takes a bit more of a shock and the bezels should not be much of a factor.

  EDIT Kryo not Krait, sorry about that. Krait was SD800/801 and was ok.

  Anyway, SD660 has lower single core peak perf but better multi core perf with a much more efficient big core, proper 4 big+4 small vs 2big+2big optimized for lower power with SD821. Will be a lot more efficient and throttle a lot less.
  SD835 is not great, seems they had huge problems with 10nm and couldn’t push clocks higher but aside from not being able to clock those A73s higher,it is pretty decent. it won’t throttle as hard as the 821 while also benefiting from the addition of the small cores when it comes to efficiency.
  Ofc at 50-60$ for the SD835 vs maybe 35$ for the SD660, we are more likely to see affordable devices with the SD660.
  X30, i don’t know, feels like it went very wrong and they could not clock it- with just 2 big cores they should have better than 2.5GHz, even on 16nm they would have room for higher clocks. We’ll see this month, once Meizu launches the Pro 7 , maybe they fixed it to some extent.

  You don’t want this anyway, the width of the display is similar to a 16:9 5.3 inch display so you get a 5.3 inch experience in portrait. 18:9 at 6inch about matches the width of a 5.5 inch 16:9. Would be nice to see 6 to 7 inch 18:9 displays not 5.5-5.7. Ofc there is 18.5:9 too and then 6.2 inch is the equivalent of a 5.5 inch 16:9 in width.
