Vernee Mars Pro: An Affordable 6GB RAM OnePlus 3T Killer?

Vernee Mars Pro

Chinese phone manufacturer Vernee have recently released their flagship phone for 2017, we’re talking about the Vernee Mars Pro. The handset features top notch design and build quality with a matte black metal body and thin size bezels, it also comes with a whopping 6GB of RAM.

Vernee Mars Pro

Going into more details we find out the Vernee Mars Pro is the results of month of R&D on how to create a phone with a ultra narrow bezels, indeed they are only 1mm thin. This design choice also makes the phone look premium even when the screen is turned off.

Vernee Mars Pro

Vernee let us know the color of the Mars Pro has been inspired by obsidian, in fact, looking at the phone we see a really deep black coloration has been coated on the whole body. Since we’re talking about the body it’s interesting to discover that it’s been created using 6 series aluminum and went through 18 CNC cutting and sandblasting processes. Vernee also say the back of the phone feels like paper in the hands and as such it’s easier to hold firmly.

Gizchina News of the week

The Vernee Mars Pro has been created from scratch for 8 times to then go through 13 fine adjustments for the internal structure, that allowed the company to make the device just 7.6mm thick. All of this while still packing a good sized 3500mAh capacity battery, a MediaTek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.5Ghz, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. To keep a cleaner overall look, Vernee also placed the fingerprint scanner on the right side of phone, making the Vernee Mars Pro perhaps one of the best looking mid-range phones with 6GB of RAM.

Vernee Mars Pro

The Vernee Mars Pro is currently on presale for just $179.99 over at Gearbest until July 10th. Note that there’ll be only 50 pieces available every day at that price. If you aren’t sure about buying one, then enter the giveaway on their official website to win one the 100 Vernee Mars Pro they’re giving away to reviewers until July 9th.

How the hell is this a One Plus 3T killer? Snapdragon 821 vs Helio P25. Helio P25 can’t even challenge the Snapdragon 650/652/820. How the hell can it challenge the 821?

I got utterly pissed the moment I read the SoC. Please stop deceiving your readers with deceptive titles.

One Plus 3T killer my foot.

name me one single app you need a snapdragon 821. even very demanding games run on the p25 just fine. it only costs 180$ that is a heck of a deal, you won’t even notice a snapdragon 821 in daily use. don’t spread bullshit.

      • July 7, 2017

I don’t know what planet you came from. First, the snapdragon 821 is a quad core SoC. Which will get better utilization by apps… Quad or octacore? From what you’re blabbering in here, it’s very obvious that you don’t know shit about mobile SoC and processors or how they work. For your information, every single app it there (be it games or words processing or the lowest demanding app) will benefit more from higher heavy duty single core performance as compared to Low power octacore. Same is applicable to computer CPUs too.

Games might play well on the P25 but that doesn’t mean it can compare to the 821 (GPU and otherwise) in any possible way. A Toyota Camry can get you anywhere a Bugatti Veyron will but it does not mean that the Toyota can get you there as fast.

Before you talk trash, better do some research. Google is your friend dude.

I’d rather get an SD 650 an old chip BTW, for 160 and have unlimited custom ROM support than pay an extra $20 bucks for this and get useless OTAs and an eventual battery drain.

I think its a nice midrange device. A alternative instead of Doogee Mix or similar devices maybe. Not a OnePlus killer of course.

Vernee got the Apollo 2 in the pipeline with MediaTek Helio x30. That might be a phone that can compete with OnePlus 5 or more high end devices. But I have not heard a launch date for it yet.
I guess MediaTek are delayed in the development with the x30 processor.

        July 6, 2017

Possible. But I think Vernee are good on the software side, no bloatware and basicly stock android unlike many other Chinese devices.
The very low budget device Vernee Thor E have so far recived 5 OTA.s
So thats a good sign for the support.
For the hardware itself the previous Vernee Mars got mostly good reviews. And I think this might be a good seller with the low price.
But we must wait for some real reviews.

They can dish out 10 OTAs if they want but OTA does not translate to quality fixes. haha. It’s not a smart thing to be impressed by OTAs. The only game Vernee is playing is the low price card but If you know where to look, better options are out there. Example, Zuk, Xiaomi. (I guess Zuk is still alive. So much for Zuk is dead so updates will stop huh. haha)

Vernee is just too slow. For a single step they take, companies like OP are already 10 steps ahead. I can guarantee you the wtv phone Vernee has in the pipeline, it won’t be able to beat Oneplus 5. You can put a 2k display on Apollo 2 or wtv it still can’t beat or be compared to OP5

Yes but OnePlus are now a expensive brand. In many places you can got a LG G6 cheaper etc..

So I think they are in a different position now compared to the first OnePlus device they launched. That leaves a opportunity for Vernee, Elephone and others.
I am not saying Vernee Mars will be a succes, but if they pull it of to make a balanced phone with decent performance it are not so bad.

Where I’m from, the official OP5 is still cheaper than the official LG G6 even if it’s by little. (Official as in officially released for that country)

Anyways, the LG G6 i rocking old hardware btw. I don’t know why you’re comparing older flagship prices. Even the S7 is cheaper than OP5 now. Since we are already on the page of comparing old hardwares. I’m pretty sure S7, G6, OP3T, Mi5s, Zuk Edge and many other will easily beat the Apollo 2 too which is not even out.. Vernee phones will be overshadowed by many other brands as soon as it comes out. They just don’t get it. Bad marketing, bad PR, bad product planning, bad software developers. Overall, it’s just not looking good. I’m actually surprised that they are still around tbh. haha

This Vernee phone is no where near the OP3T (I’m not saying its bad though, don’t get me wrong) not to talk of killing it. They are simply not in the same league performance-wise.

The main issue with mediatek processors is that their source code is hidden which means lack of updates. This also means lack of customs ROMs. When I was researching the Apollo lite, I found that after being promised android 7 by December it still doesn’t have it. The only version of nougat it has is a custom ROM with a battery drain so bad its basically unusable. Also, comparing the p series to the 625 is bad for MEDIATEK. The 625 is a lower midrange battery saving chip. Mediwteks p series is supposed to go against the 650 series chips. The old 650 blows this chip put of the water and has amazing ROM support. Qualcomm is on the 660 series right now for Christ’s sake. I’d rather take a redmi note 3 pro for this same price as this thing from a company that doesn’t keep promises…
