Xiaomi Redmi 5 official images leak, along with price/specs

Well this one is a good, decent leak I guess! A set of images appeared on Weibo recently showing images of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5 model, along with pricing and technical specs info.

If we are to believe these leaks, then the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in two main variants: one with Snapdragon 625 SoC (clocked at 2GHz) with 3GB RAM and a more powerful version equipped with Snapdragon 630 packing 4GB of RAM and a 2.2GHz CPU.

The device will also be available in 16/32GB storage variants for the 3GB model and 64GB for the 4GB model, but all versions will be equipped with microSD slot and dual SIM support.

The most awaited Redmi model is expected to pack a 5 inch full HD display with a 16MP main camera and a 5MP selfie shooter, it will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9, along with a smaller 3680 mAh battery unfortunately, especially when compared to the 4100 mAh power cell of its predecessor (Redmi 4).

Below you can find the rumored pricing of each variant.

Unfortunately we have no info on when this phone will be released but given the fact that we have so many leaks about it, we won’t have to wait long I guess.

If the camera is a significant improvement, then it could be a worthy upgrade. Otherwise the 4100mah battery in the redmi 4 prime is still looking pretty good

I expect that the battery in Redmi Note 5 will be also reduced compared to last year’s 4100mah. Last year the huge 4000+mah batteries and SD625 redefined the battery life on a smartphone and especially the screen on time. Moreover, in 2016 finally the battery capacity was taken seriously into account and as a result we saw many big battery phones. In 2017 nobody cares about the battery anymore except some small China OEMs and it’s all about dual cameras and that stupid 18:9 aspect ratio trend.

SD 630, 4GB RAM and 64 GB Internal storage for $162 ???!!! , AWESOME , simply awesome , of course retailers will sell it for more but still is a bargain

Dont make the phones fucking slimmer and reduce the battery capacity! I have the Redmi Note 4x and at 8.2 mm is thin enough. Dont cut the battery capacity, thats not what the users want!

  Yes, i always prefer longer life battery compare to stupid 2mm slimmer phone that people will not notice anyway because i always use flip casing protector LOL
