Meizu have just launched what’s possibly the most unique smartphone to come out of China in the past years, they are the Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus. These will be the company’s flagship phones for 2017, both sporting a dual display and dual camera setup.
The Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus differentiate in three main factors: screen size, we indeed find a 5.2-inch FHD Super AMOLED display for the former and a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED for the latter; equipped CPU, with the more efficient MediaTek Helio P25 on the smaller Pro 7 and the powerful MediaTek Helio X30 on the Plus. The Plus version will be also available with 6GB of LPDDR 4X RAM vs the 4GB on the cheaper variant.
Let’s now get to what they have in common. Both smartphones will feature a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a couple of 12MP shooters, with one of them being monochrome and the other capturing colors as well. Below the two cameras we find the killing feature of the Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus, a secondary 1.9-inch Samsung-made Super AMOLED display with 240×536 pixels resolution.
On the secondary display you’ll be able to see and manage your notifications, control your music or use it as a viewfinder for selfies with the two rear cameras, creating spectacular photos with a shallow depth of field.
As far as autonomy is concerned, Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus come with 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries respectively, which is on the average side. But since they’ll be featuring Meizu’s latest mCharge 4.0 technology, you might be able to charge them really quickly while keeping temperatures low.
Gizchina News of the week
Lastly, there’s a bummer for those who were interested in the bigger 5.7-inch variant as it won’t support 4G LTE on band 20, instead available on the 5.2-inch Meizu Pro 7.
