Just after the reports of the really positive Q2 where Huawei earned the first position in smartphone shipments in China, the chief of Huawei’s consumer division — Richard Yu — has just revealed some interesting details about the company’s upcoming flagship — the Huawei Mate 10.
Gizchina News of the week
Richard Yu indeed confirmed rumors we had heard at the beginning of the month regarding the possibility of a “full-screen display“, or what we can call bezel-less phone. The Huawei Mate will probably also feature the anticipated Kirin 970 chipset, which Yu didn’t mention, but he did say the Mate 10 will have “longer battery life”, other than “quicker charging speed and better photographing capability”.
Furthermore, Huawei — through the voice of Yu — announced they will stop producing low-end smartphones as they do not make enough profits due to the extremely low margins. This means we are going to see only mid-range and flagship phones from the Chinese market leader in the future.
