Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Android 7 Nougat update starts rolling out

According to GizChina Greece, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X model with Snapdragon SoC (and Global ROM) has been slowly being updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in the country starting this noon.

The update brings the device to MIUI 8.5 Global ROM which comes with Google’s security update for July and has a size of approximately 1.3GB – which is normal as the whole procedure “moves” the OS from Marshmallow to Nougat.

Note however that there’s still no sign of MIUI 9 as the aforementioned ROM is Global and Xiaomi is currently focusing their efforts on updating China ROMs with their latest UI. As always in these circumstances – if you’re an owner of a Redmi Note 4X (Snapdragon) with Global ROM – you can check for the update via the update app or wait a bit until it appears on your status bar.
