Action camera maker MGCOOL have just released a comparison video between their Explorer 2C and the SJCAM SJ6 Legend. The two cameras are very similar in specs so this is a really good comparison. If you were looking for a good affordable action camera, check out the video below:
We can see in the video that both cameras record pretty good video but the MGCOOL camera has a slight edge over the SJCAM, indeed the Explorer 2C has a wider viewing angle. Which in the examples above doesn’t make a difference, but if you’re recording video while playing some extreme sport then it’d definitely look better on a wider lens. Other than that we see that the Explorer 2C records brigther video footage, even in low light conditions.
Gizchina News of the week
The main highlight of the MGCOOL Explorer 2C is the integration of a 7G Sharp lens with a 170-degree wide viewing angle. The camera offers 7 layers glass lens to increase light intake and filter out stray light. Under it we find a Sony IMX078 sensor, meanwhile the SJCAM SJ6 Legend is equipped with a Panasonic-branded sensor.
If you found both videos looking nice then the factor that will make you chose one over the other might be the price. Here the MGCOOL Explorer 2C comes out winning as it costs $50 less than the counterpart. It indeed costs $99.99 instead of the $159.99 you need to spend to get an SJCAM SJ6 Legend.
The MGCOOL Explorer 2C is currently available for pre-order over at Banggood and is expected to ship on August 31st.
