The Ulefone Armor 2 is the company’s latest rugged phone which features IP68 rating, that means it can withstand water, dust and sand with no issues. But that’s getting somewhat common in rugged phones, so what else is special about the Armor 2? Well, what about the wide range of temperatures it can survive? We’re talking from a lowest of -40C to a maximum of 80C. Ulefone posted a video showing us just that; let’s have a look.
Taking inspiration from the books and TV show “Game of Thrones”, the video begins with the Ulefone Armor 2 being frozen into a block of ice, then put into a pan on top of a portable cooker. This obviously causes the water to liquefy, to the point of making it boil.
Then the Armor 2 was taken out and surprisingly enough (at least for us) the smartphone is fully working, they even put it back into the pan and call it from another phone to prove it’s not damaged in any way.

How’s this possible, though? Well, Ulefone say that the housing of the Armor 2 is made of flexible TPU, with some parts in glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate material and metal, because of this the smartphone can withstand temperatures in which other smartphones would probably die.
Rugged features aside, the Armor 2 is pretty powerful as well; the smartphone is indeed powered by a Mediatek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.6Ghz, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 4700mAh battery with 9V/2A PE+2.0 fast charge support. We also find a 16MP rear and 13MP front waterproof cameras, a 5.0-inch FHD display with a PPI of 441 and works on 27 frequency bands under 6 network types.
The fingerprint scanner has been placed on the front and the smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat. There are also 6 physical buttons on the edges, respectively power on/off button, volume +/- button, PTT button, shutter button, and SOS button.
