This Titanium Chinese Phone Costs A Cool $2000

8848, that’s the name of this upmarket Chinese phone maker who believes customers are willing to spend cost to $2000 for its latest Android smartphone!

Since the very early days of the Chinese phone market, there has always been a few boutique brands that have offered the discerning Chinese customer a VIP option. For those customers who find an iPhone, flagship Samsung or the latest Vivo device too pedestrian these VIP brands tend have created phones using top end materials and unique styling to stand out from the crowd.

8848 is one of these brands, and their latest phone, the M4 is set to launch in Chinese stores tomorrow (28th August), and just like all those other phones, the M4 has an astronomical price tag.

For a cool 12999 Yuan, that’s around $1955 at today’s exchange rate, the 8848 M4 is a Titanium flagship phone that only the rich are likely to be attracted to.

Gizchina News of the week

Like similar high-end phones, 8848 has used very flashy materials to build the M4 and so we see a Titanium case with gold detailing and other ‘elements’ which we believe are some sort of cut glass.

Also like other chic phones of a similar nature, the hardware isn’t quite up to the asking price.

While the M4 does come with 6GB RAM and 128GB memory, the processor is an unnamed 2.0Ghz processor which is likely from Mediatek. The phone also has a 5.15-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 23 mega-pixel rear camera and front 13 mega-pixel sensor.

It’s highly unlikely that 8848 will release the M4 outside of China, but those customers wanting to get their hands on such a phone need only wait until tomorrow (28th August) at 2pm.
