I know what you’re about to say, and you’ll probably be right. The Snapdragon 660 chipset has barely hit the market and already rumors have began regarding its successor (Snapdragon 670?). Well that’s what technology is all about guys!
According to recent leaks, the next-gen chip is expected to appear in early 2018 and it should be the first of the series to be built on the notorious 10nm architecture. Qualcomm will use Samsung’s 10nm LPP (Low Power Plus) technology – a refinement of the 10nm LPE (Low Power Early) tech.

The same rumors suggest that the chip will be equipped with an octa-core Kryo CPU – 2 high power cores (Kryo 360) and 6 low-power ones. We should point out that Kryo 360 will be a (revamped) third-generation core, while the Snapdragon 835 and 660 use second gen cores.
Qualcomm’s new processor will use ARM’s DynamIQ tech, which is basically the successor to big.LITTLE, offering much more flexible performance and response. As expected, the Adreno GPU will also get a boost and a 6xx Series model, while the current Snapdragons use Adreno 5-series.
