And why? Because he can! The former Xiaomi CEO got a surprise gift earlier today via FedEx and it was a Mi Mix 2 model, straight from China!
The device isn’t expected until tomorrow noon to be unveiled officially but he doesn’t care, he’s got one right now in his hands and he rushed to post some photos of the packaging on his Weibo account. While we cannot see the device itself, the packaging give us some most welcomed information that we expect to be confirmed tomorrow.

So according to the package box of the Mi Mix 2, Hugo Barra got a 6GB RAM model, with 256GB storage and Ceramic coating! This means that Xiaomi will use the same manufacture process as the first model, skipping the use of metal. So far we know that the new MIX will be equipped with a 6.4 inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 835 SoC, a 4500 mAh battery and a 93% screen to body ration screen that will possibly blow our minds.
