Top 5 Chinese Smartphones for Under $200
1. Meizu M6 Note
Let’s start-off with the latest smartphone to hit the market present on the list – the Meizu M6 Note. The handset is pretty much the closest competitor to the best selling Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. It features the same 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB or 64GB of internal storage respectively (the latter versions are above the $200 mark, though).
What differentiates the Meizu M6 Note from the Redmi Note 4 is the presence of a dual camera setup on the back of the phone. In addition to that the primary shooter also sports a wider aperture of F/1.9 (it’s F/2.0 on the Note 4), meanwhile the secondary camera is a 5MP with F/2.0 aperture. At the front we find a really high-res 16MP selfie snapper with the same F/2.0 aperture.
The Meizu M6 Note does come with a 100mAh smaller 4000mAh battery but we can overlook that. The smartphone supports pretty much every 4G LTE network, including band 20.
2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
Speaking of the devil, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 makes its appearance on the top 5, once again. The handset still packs rather good hardware even a year after its official launch, with a power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display, 13MP rear shooter (either a Sony IMX258 or Samsung S5K3L8) with F/2.0 aperture which can shoot videos at 120fps, and a 5MP selfie snapper.
The smartphone packs a massive 4000mAh capacity battery that paired with the efficient CPU delivers outstanding autonomy; in the Global Edition the Note 4 supports a plethora of 4G LTE bands, with band 20 being among them.
3. Vernee Mars Pro
Back from last month’s top 5 we have the Vernee Mars Pro which was released earlier in June. The smartphone features the same beautiful design of the original Mars, with a clean look and a side-placed fingerprint scanner.
Gizchina News of the week
The Mars Pro also packs some good hardware, although it’s on the lower-end spectrum as far as performance is concerned. We indeed find a power efficient MediaTek Helio P25 clocked at 2.5Ghz, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable).
Vernee’s handset boasts a 5.5-inch FHD display coated in 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a 13MP Sony IMX258 rear camera with F/2.0 aperture and a 5MP Samsung S5K5E2 selfie snapper. Lastly, the smartphone is equipped with a decently sized 3500mAh battery and supports most of the 4G LTE bands used in Europe: 1800, 2100, 2600 and 800MHz.
4. ZUK Z2
It’s really hard to say no to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 for less than $200, isn’t it? That’s why the ZUK Z2 is yet again among the best Chinese phones you can get for under $200. In addition to the powerful CPU, the handset is also equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The ZUK Z2 is on the smaller side sporting a 5-inch FHD display, meanwhile camera wise the smartphone packs a 12MP rear shooter with F/2.2 aperture and 120fps slow-mo video support; on the front we instead find an 8MP selfie snapper.
ZUK’s phone comes with a 3500mAh capacity battery and it can be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. The Z2 also supports lots of 4G LTE networks but no band 20.
5. LeEco Le Pro 3 X722
Last but not least, we have a smartphone that most of you probably haven’t heard of in a while – the LeEco Le Pro 3 X722. Just like the previously mentioned ZUK Z2, also the Le Pro 3 packs the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU along with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and it’s available for just $199.99 in some stores.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display coated in 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a 16MP with F/2.0 aperture, 4K and 120fps video recording capability rear camera, and an 8MP selfie shooter with 1.4μm large pixels.
The LeEco Le Pro 3 X722 is equipped with a large 4070mAh battery and supports most 4G LTE networks around the globe, including band 20.
