The Elephone S8 is one of the latest tri-bezel-less devices to hit the market, but some of you may have noticed it costs slightly more than what the competition offers, albeit still much less than Xiaomi’s MIX 2.
Elephone say that people are still willing to spend a bit more to get their handset and they explained why; let’s hear them out.
1. The Elephone S8 is the first tri-bezel-less smartphone to feature a large 6.0-inch display and 2K resolution, with a 92.4% screen-to-body ratio; it also sports a deca-core processor.
2. Elephone decided to produce a more premium device and thus used higher quality materials instead of cheaping out. This probably makes the device more stable and more durable on the long run, but does add production costs and final price.

3. The Elephone S8 is equipped with 3D curved Lumia material on the back with a thin sheet of glass over it. With these materials the S8 supposedly looks more beautiful and solid as well, compared to similar devices.
The Elephone S8 is currently available over at Gearbest with a $40 off discount. If you’re interested head over there, only two days left before the offer expires.
What do you guys think about the reasons Elephone gave for the higher price? Do you agree with them? Let us know in the comments section below!
2K display will be darker than FHD, but it’s clearer and has higher saturation. I suggest you to try compare a 2K display phone and normal FHD phone in your local store. In total, 2K display is better than FHD. That’s why many large brand also start to use 2K display. Personally, I prefer 2K display.
2k is pointless if you don’t use VR. You can’t notice 2K on a 6 inch display, So, It’s pure gimmick. The display is too small to render 2K in it’s glory. and 2K displays are not necessarily darker or has better viewing quality, it depends on the technology of the display, like whether it’s Amoled compared to LCD and etc. You don’t know what you’re taking about.
I think if you have a good eye you can see the dots on a FHD 6incher. I wouldn’t mind if it was an amoled FHD anyway.
That’s biologically, not possible. Unless you have micro or magnifying vision. Many say that they can tell the difference but in reality its just the difference in display technology that they are seeing. I can guarantee if you use a Galaxy S8 (which I am) and toggle the display setting from FHD to QHD, you won’t be able to tell the difference.
Sorry I was talking about a 6inch HD display. That you can see
Still impossible to see. What most people see is the placebo effect.
LOL you do not have to be able to see a single pixel to tell a difference. You can perceive a better quality without seeing pixels one by one. I know, I have 2K phone.
Are u using the galaxy s8 like i am and change the settings between fhd and qhd? U wont be able to tell this diff. And this is the best example cause its the same display. So diff screen tech wont be in the equation.
The display is 6.0″. You really think it’s no difference? I guess you haven’t seen the 2K display smartphone. The effect is obvious.
Let me requote, That’s biologically, not possible. Unless you have micro or magnifying vision. Many say that they can tell the difference but in reality its just the difference in display technology that they are seeing. I can guarantee if you use a Galaxy S8 (which I am) and toggle the display setting from FHD to QHD, you won’t be able to tell the difference.
In addition to that. Currently, I own the S8, LG G6, Honor 8 pro which all have 2K and had previously owned many 2k display phones, fyi
I write from HD redmi 4x after owning elephone s7. 4 hours SOT on s7, 10 hours now on redmi. And screen as good IMO. Would never come back to former s7 (sold difficultly in mint condition…)
